Brittany Aldean Has No Time For the Mommy Shamers of the Internet

Okay, okay, so I know that, generally, there’s no reason to feel bad for celebrities because you kind of get what you pay for once you step into the public eye. But I’ve gotta say, I do not blame the famous women who have children for speaking out, because people take the Mommy Shaming and Mommy Wars to a whole new level if they already think they have the right to judge you.

Brittany Aldean, wife of country singer Jason Aldean, has no time for the Internet’s crap, though, and her confidence and ability to live her life should encourage you to do the same.

The couple recently had a baby boy, and when he was 3-months-old, they decided to schedule a little getaway without him in tow. She Instagrammed a picture of herself looking at a picture of the little man before takeoff, and unleashed the holier than thous who would never leave their precious bundle at such a young age.

The comments were full of people who “could never” leave their little one, who had never left kids who are now toddlers, and there was also more of the general “she didn’t have to, she wanted to” commentary.

Brittany, though, was unbothered by the noise.

She wrote:

“Much needed vacay. Just a word of wisdom for all the parent shamers…vacations are ok for new parents to take. Sometimes after being pregnant for almost a year, cooped up in a house for weeks at a time, you need a little sunshine and adult time. IT IS NOT OK to leave your ignorant comments. If you don’t agree with something, PLEASE…do me a favor and unfollow me. You will NOT be missed. And for all the sweet, positive, happy people…we love you and thank you!!”

As for their son, he seems to have survived his parents’ absence without any lasting damage.

As any new parent could tell you, those first months (years, really) are hard on a marriage. If I had the money, you can bet we would have already jetted off for a few days of relaxing in the sun and sleeping through the night. As it is, we had to settle for a marathon of Stranger Things and wine from Walmart.

Still, a break is a break, and we all need one. So let’s cut celeb moms some slack, eh?
