If you’ve never tried Fireball Cinnamon Whisky, first of all, would you like to be friends? You’re clearly living life the right way. And second, Fireball is a syrupy, spicy cinnamon-flavored whisky with the tagline, “Tastes like heaven, burns like hell.” But if you asked me, the tagline should be “Tastes like what happens when you mix Old Crow with a tube of cinnamon Crest.” Think of Fireball as whisky for people who don’t like whisky. Or cinnamon. Or feeling good for a very long time after they drink it.
Fireball’s main selling point isn’t so much the taste, but rather its ability to get you hammered without spending much money–making it particularly popular among college students and young adults. But since Fireball has only been on the market since the 1980’s, and only marketed under its current name since 2007, whole generations of people grew up without it.
And that’s why the Youtube channel Observ Entertainment decided to see what happens when grandmas try Fireball for the very first time. In the video, two pairs of grandmas take their inaugural voyage on the USS Fireball. All of them admit to being veteran drinkers and partiers in their heyday.
One of them still is, saying, “I probably have something to drink every day, ’cause I like a glass of wine. But harder drinks, it’s usually in a party mood, going out to dinner. It’s part of my life, for sure.”
Another said: “Been to a lot of exciting parties. During the Olympics, I had the entire Spanish yachting team to a big party in the backyard. That was very fun. Spaniards, you know.”
But even the most hardy and experienced drinkers can’t be prepared for the scorching fury that is Fireball.
