Okay, so they totally do give unsolicited advice on occasion. But if you’ve got parents that are too nice to give it to you straight, below are 10 things they would say if they weren’t quite so polite.
#10. They don’t want to babysit all the time.
They love their grandkids, but they have lives of their own, you know.
#9. They don’t want your parenting advice.
They’ve done this before. If you don’t like their style, don’t leave your kids with them.
#8. The kids will tattle on you.
Yep. They know every last detail that’s going on at home.
#7. They feed your kids whatever they want.
Their house, their rules – so popsicles for breakfast it is.
#6. They buy them annoying toys on purpose.
They’re retired and have to amuse themselves some way.
#5. They ignore your rules on screen time.
If they need a break, television or video games it is.
#4. They get tired.
They’re older than you, and your kids are exhausting. Sometimes, maybe hire a babysitter under the age of 60.
#3. They’ll keep your kids safe.
You can trust them, full stop.
#2. Your kids lie about what they did at Grandma’s house.
Because it’s fun, or they’re trying to scam you. Whatever the reason, you’ll probably want to verify with an adult before you believe them.
#1. They adore your kids.
Otherwise, why would they offer to watch them at all?
Now you know!
