One of my worst nightmares is getting into a car accident with my kiddo in the backseat. It hasn’t happened yet (knock on wood), but now that I’ve read this mom’s car seat hack, I feel a bit more prepared.
And let’s face it – any sort of control you can take back in the arena of motherhood is something to celebrate.
Okay. So, worse than getting into an accident? Getting into an accident and being injured to the point where you’re not able to help your child or help someone else help your child.
Enter this post, from mother Alexis Copas (who saw and copied it from Kaitlyn Lawson on Facebook):
In the event that you’re unable to communicate on your child’s behalf, it’s a great idea to have their emergency information taped to their car seat. This lady included name, date of birth, parents’ names, and emergency contact phone numbers, as well as the fact that her daughter wasn’t verbal and had no known medical conditions. I have to imagine this would be doubly important if your child did have medical conditions, took regular medication, or had an allergy.
It will take you less than five minutes to get this done, and if the unthinkable happens, I have to imagine you’ll be happy you did it. I’m working on mine now.
