The Comments on This Picture of a Rhino Breastfeeding Are Totally Amazing

Everyone who spends any amount of time on the Internet knows to never break the cardinal rule of staying sane online: do not, under any circumstances, read the comments. It’s where the masses of unwashed human minds gather to spew ignorance and hatred the likes of which it takes months to bleach from your brain…usually.

That’s not the case here, after the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens posted a photo of one of their rhino mamas nursing her (mostly grown) calf. The Internet was good for once, and we’re all here to reap the benefits.

The Milk Meg shared the post with the caption about how even though the calf, Kendi, is a bit too old for nursing, her mother still occasionally allows it – and moms everywhere felt an immediate kinship so strong they just couldn’t keep silent.

Just so we’re on the same page, fact-wise, rhinos typically only nurse their young for a couple of weeks before teaching them how to survive on local vegetation. Okay. Here we go.

If you’re not howling with laughter at this point, then you’ve never been a mom or been friends with a mom or witnessed the horror of breastfeeding shaming (or other parenting shaming) that people deal with on the regular these days.

Even then, idk. It’s still pretty funny.
