It’s no secret that parents are having serious regrets when it comes to having introduced an Elf on a Shelf to their home. It’s also no secret that people – kids, parents, and just about everyone in between – love the movie Frozen.
For the record, I am not one of those people, so Olaf can stay the hell away from me and mine, but I digress.
The point is, now there’s an alternative to Elf on a Shelf that your kids might actually accept!
Frozen Hide-and-Hug Olaf came out in 2017 and first off, it arrives with a book, which already makes it better than your Elf. The hardcover is full of ways to encourage interaction between you and your children (plus Olaf, of course) and includes the plush version of the animated snowman himself.
The book features pithy dialogue, short, repetitive sentences, and plenty of opportunities to give Olaf a hug. Moms have taken it one step further and have taken to hiding Olaf around the house for their children to find – but unlike the Elf, who is often naughty and has to be moved every day, Olaf just wants hugs.
Who doesn’t love that?
Even teachers do and are adopting their own Olaf for their classrooms over the holiday. I have to say, this seems like a better use of your time than remembering to make messes you have to clean up.
