New Dad Wonders if He Was Wrong to Leave the Delivery Room After His Fiance Yelled Another Man’s Name

You’ve probably heard stories about people shouting out the wrong name in the bedroom, or saying the wrong name at the altar (or was that just dumbo Ross Gellar?), but you might never have considered someone shouting an ex’s name while delivering a baby.

It makes it more complicated, I think, because the man in the room has a reason to be there aside from the woman, and it’s a stressful moment when she’s not really thinking and all of that.

These two met at a bar and dated 8 months before she found out she was pregnant.

He proposed, she said yes, and they were trying to make things work.

It kind of sounds like just for the sake of the baby, but that’s really none of my business.

Along the way he learned she had been engaged before but he had died young, and seemed oddly put out that she still seemed sad about it sometimes.

She had the last word and went to stay with her mother, and now he’s wondering whether or not he was in the wrong.

People…have some thoughts on this one.

But most feel like his son is innocent here, and he needs to suck it up and be a dad.

They pointed out that she sounds like a young woman who is still reeling from loss, and judging her in a vulnerable moment is wrong.

Still others pointed out that, while she might not have been wrong in the moment, her behavior afterward is suspect.

Though I would like to point out as a mother that those hormones in the first days postpartum are no joke, and no one in the history of ever should be held accountable for anything they said.

This one is definitely controversial, y’all, but from the way he spoke about their relationship and his lack of connection to this whole pregnancy, I’m not sure he had it in him to go the distance, anyway.

What are your thoughts? I’d love to hear them in the comments!
