This Might Be the Most “Extra” Nanny Job on the Planet

Some parents these days go the extra mile for their kids and honestly, most of them don’t even seem to realize they’re being a bit crazy. I’m not sure whether or not that describes this mother looking for a nanny for her five-year-old twins, but whether she recognizes it or not, her ad is pretty strange.

And yeah, it’s also completely extra.

The ad was posted on Childcare.co and asks that, in addition to caring part-time for the twins, the applicant be not only willing, but excited to dress up as a revolving lineup of Disney princesses.

Oh, but wait. That’s not all – the nanny has to dress up as them and also show up and remain in character for the duration of your duties.

It begins:

“I have a slightly unusual request that I’m hoping someone will be able to help me with!”

She goes on to describe what she’s expecting and if you’re wondering, the Disney thing isn’t just for fun. Nope. She hopes that the princesses will help teach the girls “about things like determination, compassion, fearlessness, and ambition from strong yet relatable female role models like Princess Tiana, Princess Anna, Belle, and Cinderella.”

“We know this isn’t a normal request for nannies, however we think it would be a great way to teach our girls about things like determination, compassion, fearlessness and ambition from strong yet relatable female role models like Princess Tiana, Princess Anna, Belle and Cinderella.”

Well, that’s one way of justifying it, though I suspect they would learn the same things from the films.

It’s not just about babysitting in character – she also wants you to have prepared “a variety of Disney-related activities (arts and crafts, baking, singing, etc.), cooking dinner and potentially putting them to bed if we’re late home from work.”

The good news is they’re offering around $53,000 for the gig as well as paid vacation and sick days, and they seem to be aware that it’s not a “normal job offering.”

They want to do a trial period, probably as much for checking out how you are with their kids as making sure you’re only “Disney mad” and not, you know, legit mad.

I guess if you don’t put yourself out there you’ll never find what you want!
