Most of us have hopped onto the pod train. We use them to clean our laundry and our dishes, and honestly, if they came out with a pod to clean my body, I’d probably use that, too.
What I didn’t know until recently is that you can use your dishwasher pods to do another job that absolutely no one loves – cleaning the oven.

And yes, it stinks even if you have a self-cleaning oven. It smells terrible, it takes forever, and there is always carbon dust and other leftover gunk to clean up.
At least there used to be.
To clean all of the grease and grime from your oven – glass, metal, the whole shebang – without all of the fuss and muss, all you need is a bowl of warm water and a tab (or two).
Dip the dishwasher tab in the water, holding it until it soaks up some water (but not long enough that it disintegrates), then you basically use the tab like a sponge, scrubbing it over your oven’s surface. You might need to keep dipping it as it gets dirty and dries out during the process.

If you have sensitive skin, you may want to wear gloves.
It works because dishwasher tablets are made of concentrated detergent that delivers on the promise of cutting through tough grease. It leaves your dishes sparkling (in theory) so there’s no reason your oven won’t come out looking equally bright and shiny.
The tablets claim to remove baked-on food stains on dishes, and your oven likely has some of those, too, and the powder inside them lend just enough abrasive scrubbing power to make it happen with minimal elbow grease, too.

The next time your oven needs a good cleaning, don’t reach for spray cleaners that make you cough, and leave the sponge in the trash where it belongs – you just need a tab, a bowl of water, and your own two hands.
