I know that most people are nostalgic for a “simpler” time, or usually for the time when they were children – because objectively, childhood is much better than adulthood for most of us.

That said, there seem to be special longing for the late 80s and 90s, because it really was a simpler time. The internet was barely a thing, cell phones were just popping up on television shows but not in real life, and most of us who were kids spent long days and nights running free while it never occurred to our parents to worry.
