Being a single parent is hard these days, especially when daycare is expensive and there have been more than a few times when none has been available at all because of the pandemic.
People still have to work, though, which means they have to be able to get to interviews and land a job – again, tough when you struggle to find childcare.
Maggie Mundwiller is the mother of two who recently relayed an interesting and unique interview experience on TikTok.
The video, which has amassed more than 8 million views, talks about how she needed to get to a second interview but couldn’t find anyone to watch Mylo, her 1-year-old son.
She reached out to her potential employer and let them know her sticky spot, but she was surprised when they told her to bring the baby along with her.
Maggie is clearly awesome, so she dressed up her son and wrote him a resume of her own before heading off to what turned out to be a super great second interview.
She said that because they were aware of her life situation, she felt more relaxed talking with them and didn’t feel like she needed to hide any aspects of her “home” self.
Maggie hopes her story might inspire employers everywhere to be more “family friendly.”

Not like, asking people to bring their kids to work but being more understanding about the obligations that parents have that sometimes deserve to take precedence over work.
Good luck in your search, Maggie!
