I cannot imagine being a teacher in the best of times, and just the thought of keeping younger kiddos engaged through a computer screen is enough to give me hives.

Which is to say that while these videos of teachers working extra hard didn’t surprise me, they still horrifying me, and make me extremely grateful for everything teachers do for our kiddos every single day.

I mean, to keep up this level of enthusiasm all day long…can you even imagine? I lose that amount of “up” long before lunch, as a stay-at-home mom.

And this woman, who has to engage with a student who is always the first one there, always ready to go, even before she officially clocks in for the day.

Not that teachers actually clock in or out, I know.

This woman has the patience of a saint, y’all, and she does this all day long, every day, for the foreseeable future.

I cannot – literally cannot – imagine how exhausted she must be at the end of the day.

Could you handle this level of stress, and the expectation of being “on” all day, every day, because little kids are counting on you to show them this distance learning thing is fine and will work?

If so, you’re a better person than I am (not difficult), but for the rest of us, I think these videos are all the confirmation we need that we should not only be kind to our kid’s teachers, but we should definitely get them some awesome gifts for their trouble.

Bless.
